Amplitude Modulation

By

Amplitude modulation (AM) is a method of modulating a signal by varying the amplitude of a carrier wave in response to the modulation signal.

amplitude

In AM, the carrier signal is typically a high-frequency sine wave, and the modulation signal is a lower-frequency audio signal. The audio signal is used to vary the amplitude of the carrier wave in a way that reflects the information being carried.
